Our Staff
Lori Ann Golon, MD
Dr. Lori Ann Golon is the owner of Lori Ann Golon M.D., P.A., and is also the primary physician at the office. She has practiced as a pediatric physician for over 19 years and has primarily served the Leavenworth area during this time. She has been married to her husband, Jeff Thorne, for 19 years and has 3 children: Jackie who is married to Cameron, Danielle who is married to Steve, and Thaddeus, who is 15, goes to Lansing High School, and plays the tuba in the band. She has two beautiful grandchildren, Arik and Arsen whom she loves dearly. She also has 2 rescued Yorkie Terriers named Sweetie and Rocky.
Rachel Brinkmann, Office Manager
Rachel Brinkmann is the office manager at Dr. Lori Golon's office as well as vice president of Lori's Home. Prior to working with Dr. Golon, she was a stay at home mom to five amazing children Christian, Seth, Madison, Korbin, and Donovan. Her children have been coming to Dr. Golon's office since birth. Rachel's passion for pediatrics and the love for the staff was why she was asked to be a part of the team. The team at the office is now her second home and family. Outside of her love for her job, she is a total homebody and enjoys quality time with her family and friends, creating lifelong memories. Her greatest accomplishment is seeing her children succeed in life. She is also a proud grandmother as well as a mother to a United States Marine.
Cathy Hartley, Medical Assistant
Cathy is Dr. Golon's Medical Assistant of 17 years and counting. She moved here from Manhattan, Kansas to be closer to her family and has four children and seven grandchildren. She is single and enjoys camping, shopping, and spending time with her two cats. She cares deeply for the children she serves and is glad to be a part of our team at Lori Ann Golon M.D., P.A. She also is a champion and supporter of Lori's Home, a non-profit organziation created by Dr. Golon and her staff to support children in the foster system.

Helping the Community Through Lori's Home:
Dr. Lori Golon, Rachel Brinkmann, and Cathy Hartley have created Lori’s Home, a non-profit organization incorporated with the Kansas Secretary of State that is dedicated to providing children within the Foster Care System food, bedding, personal hygiene supplies, clothing, and most importantly, a place they can call home. This organization has been created to advocate for children in need of both physiological and emotional support until they have the opportunity to be adopted into a loving, permanent home. Dr. Lori Ann Golon, a pediatric physician of over 19 years in the Leavenworth area, is spearheading this project after experiencing firsthand the difficulties and hardships that these children face during times of uncertainty—“My staff and I see an increased need for emergency placement of foster care children. Unfortunately, several of these children placed in emergency care or in between foster homes have nowhere to go. The children have no idea where they are going next—how frightening this must be for them.” With the help of volunteers vetted by Kansas Department for Children and Families, Dr. Lori Golon and the board of Lori’s Home aspire to create awareness of this issue and to provide the help and support that these children need.
